Our friend's Mark & Brenda invited us over for a housewarming dinner last night. They asked us to bring dessert and I took this task very seriously. Inspired by Deborah Madison, I created a giant Galette filled with apples, toasted pine nuts, candied lemons, golden raisins & a healthy splash of Kihafa. At the last minute I decided it deserved a sauce so I blended yogurt with the remaining lemony sugar reduction.Everyone asked how I candied the lemons ~ just bring one cup of sugar & one cup of water to a boil, add THIN slices of 2 lemons, simmer for 25 minutes & let cool.
Mom, I made the crust by hand & Ryan said it was the best part :)
